Only a few songs left in my ultimate song list. This morning, lets get to the most played track on my iPod (by a long shot too!):
Looks Like We Made It, Barry Manilow. ZOMG, you guys!! This song is so awesome! Frankly, I’m not even sure why this song makes me so inexplicably happy. I luvs me some Barry, and all his songs make me happy. But I could listen to this particular joint forever and never, ever get sick of it. In fact, every time I listen to it, I find it difficult to resist the urge to do a fist pump in the air on every “made it” in the chorus. Really. I sit on my hands on the subway and in other public places when I listen to it so I don’t hit someone. Love, love, love it.
Oh, and at the concert I went to earlier this year, Barry sang every friggin’ song he’s ever recorded EXCEPT for this one. I still love you Barry. Neil did that to me too.
You can click the title to hear the song in its entirety – and you should because it’s awesome - but I know if I give you Manilow concert video, hell will freeze over before most of you click on it. So I give you a twist – and evidence that this song is at least somewhat cool.
Here is Poison frontman and Rock of Love trainwreck inciter Bret Michaels on celebrity Don’t Forget the Lyrics. And guess what people? He knows the words to the song!! Cuz Barry’s the man!
um, that youtube clip was awesome. awesome.
I like Bret much more now that I know he’s a Fanilow.
You and I are brothers from another mother…er, well sisters, but that doesn’t rhyme.
Neil and Barry in one post…OMG.
It’s awesome that you saw Barry recently. I have seen him a few times, but not in several years. Would love to see him again.
Oh, the show was so good! He’s had WAY too much plastic surgery, but he put on an amazing show. I think he is still doing the regular Vegas gig, if you are ever out there.
Plastic surgery…and a HIP REPLACEMENT recently, right?
[...] even though I still smart a little because you did not sing this Elleen’s Essentials ditty when I saw you in concert last year, I still love you enough to wish you a Happy, Happy Birthday. [...]
